Romeo and Juliet

After viewing the play, Romeo and Juliet, I think that it was very good because both families, the Capulets and the Montegues, learned a very valuable lesson. The sad part was that to learn that lesson, they went through the pain of losing 2 family members. They learned to not put their differences between their families.

Young Love, Old Divisions

This article was about a boy and a girl who live in California. The boy is black and the girl is Mexican. And even though they are from different races, they still love each other and they have a relationship in which they have to go through the racism of the people around them. But even though their race is different, they don't let that affect the love they have for each other and they also support each other. In my opinion, i feel that Lionel and Beatriz will make their relationship work out because they don't pay attention to what people say. They care about each other and they wont let harsh words determine their future.

Bronx Masquerade #1

My opinion on the book "Bronx Masquerade," is that it is a very good book, because it has to do with realistic facts and it gets you interested in it. Also i think that it teaches people about what teenagers are going through in high schools in the Bronx. I can connect to Raul, because he wants to be a painter but everyone in his family tells him that there was never a painter in this family and your not able to make it big in America. I can relate to him because when i am older, i want to go to college and graduate and become a dentist, but nobody in my family has ever even graduated college. But i am determined to be the first. My faveorite character is Chankara because she seems like a strong women who can take care of herself. I don't have a least faveorite character because i like all of them. They are going through hard times but they are still determined and the express their feelings through poetry.

poems

Poems are more intresting than articles because poems are shorter. For example, if you had to choose between reading a whole page of words between reading a short little poem and they were both about the same thing, i am sure that you will pick the poem. Well i would, if you like to read things with a lot of details then you would probably read the article but if you were like me and u like reading short passages that give you the only information you need and nothing more, then you would pick a poem. More over, even though poems are short, they give you the exact amount of information that you need and they don't add extra details like articles do.

code of conduct for a classroom

As a mature 8Th grader, i know that the appropriate way to behave/act in class is to pay attention. And also to raise your hand before speaking. You have to do this because it is important to respect teachers. if you don't you could easily get in trouble or the teacher might get in trouble. for example, if you talk during class the teacher might get really mad and send you to the principles office. and if you do something really disrespectful, the teacher might curse at you or hit you and that will get them in big trouble with the principal. to behave good in class, you have to follow the rules, for example,
- no throwing papers
- no talking while the teacher is talking
- keep your hands to yourself.
Those kind of rules is that keep a class quiet. Also if a class is behaving bad, the teacher can call the assistant principal or staff member to take out the students that are disrupting the class.
